Osteopathy & Sport Injury Rehabilitation Testimonials

Here are just a few of the testimonials Lisa Opie has received for her Osteopathy & Sport Injury Rehabilitation treatments.

Edwina AJ, Company Director & Overworked mum.

Edwina AJ, Company Director & Overworked mum.

As a 52 year old, “reasonably fit” but inching above “the preferred scale boundaries” mum – and after a particularly dramatic head long fall into the helm of a ridiculous speedboat – resulting in a broken shoulder, a damaged ankle and severe head and neck ache; Lisa bent, stretched, massaged and needled me back together again. Her diagnosis was accurate and her referral swift. The initial colourful taping was particularly helpful and my surgeon was amazed at my unusually swift recovery. Lisa was also quick to diagnosed and treat an ongoing nerve injury in my thigh which had been niggling for a number of months and which I had tried to ignore. Her advice was straightforward and treatment effective.

Lisa is highly competent and easy to talk to. She is understanding of the idiosyncrasies of us less agile folk along with the ridiculous but very real reluctances of undressing and revealing all. She has the professionalism and credentials of a first class athlete however she also demonstrates a sympathetic understanding in her approach to deliver and mend, getting swiftly to the point and all done with good humour and genuine care.

Endurance cycling can have a real toll on the body and regular sessions with Lisa have allowed me to maintain my training load and avoid any lengthy layoffs. Lisa’s experience and attention to detail is first class and as a result my pedal technique and power output have improved since doing these sessions. We are currently working on the challenge of all challenges, in trying to see if I can run injury free again after several old rugby injuries. I would not hesitate to recommend her and can’t wait to be able to run injury free again.

Since stepping up my cycling a few years ago, in training for Ride 100 & more recently a 100k Sportive in Wiltshire, I have been treated by Lisa at Osteopath West. I was recommended to see her for Osteopathic treatment because of her sporting background and knowledge. Lisa easily identified the cause of my niggles & I found that the combination of deep tissue massage, manipulation, needling, sport taping with good advice, resolved my issues each time. I recommend anyone who is looking for someone who understands the demands of training for a sport at any level to see Lisa for treatment.

Lisa’s interest in women’s health makes her the perfect addition to our antenatal team at The Blooming Bunch. We only work with tried and trusted health professionals with the experience to match their people skills. We often refer to labour as a marathon, not a sprint and Lisa’s background means that she understand and communicates the sporting analogy brilliantly. Lisa seems always keen to listen and to learn more. Refreshingly, she doesn’t have the arrogance of some medics who feel they know it all!

I am 83 years old and am still able to live an active life which includes playing golf twice a week. I am sure this is largely due to Lisa Opie, my osteopath, who I visit regularly. She works on my body, deep massaging my legs, feet and back for 45 minutes of friendly chatter

As an ageing and damaged estate agent and footballer, I am now in need of more maintenance that ever before. Lisa has helped hugely in keeping me in full working order and I can’t recommend her highly enough – as I have and will continue to do so.

Having been pretty much injury free for three years of ironman triathlon training, a change of running shoe design led to me developing plantar fasciitis. This very painful foot problem meant I had to reduce my volume of running training. Not prepared to let it get any worse, I went to Lisa who not only treated the foot with some massage and manipulation but also taped it up with what I now describe as magic tape – Kinesio tape. My foot showed almost immediate improvement and I was able to run in the tape as usual but without it feeling restricted. Instead my foot felt almost ‘cradled’ and supported and after a few taping sessions is 99% better. I am a Kinesio tape convert – it works brilliantly.
