Here are just a few of the testimonials Osteopath West has received for her Osteopathy & Sport Injury Rehabilitation treatments.
I had severe sciatica for 8 months, and tried numerous things such as acupuncture but nothing worked. I came to Lisa Opie, who soon started a course of IDD therapy with me, and to my surprise I found the treatments quite relaxing and completely pain-free! After just three treatments I started to notice an improvement which continued with every treatment thereafter. By the end of the course (12 treatments) I was totally pain free and my sciatica has now completely gone. I can't tell you how wonderful it is to be pain free after suffering for 8 months prior to coming to Osteopath West. Lisa is very professional and I can't thank her enough, and her marvellous IDD machine! Jane Hughes
I have been seeing dentists for unexplained toothaches for the last couple of years. They finally diagnosed me with bruxism and made me a mouthguard. However, I was still in pain as I continued clenching my teeth in spite of the mouthguard while sleeping. Only then I realised how much my jaw muscles were tense, probably as a result of stress, caffeine and hours sitting in front of a computer. Fortunately I found Lisa at Osteopath West and she was instrumental in helping my jaw muscles to relax and correctly align my spine. I was without pain after a couple of months. I continue coming monthly for maintenance to compensate for the occupational hazard connected with a high profile job. Renata Mala, Company Director & Busy Grandmother
A few years back, during a training session; I ended up injuring myself, (herniated 2 discs in my back and tore multiple muscles in my lower back), to a point where I could barely walk and ended up with spasms and contorted my entire back and sharp shooting pains down my leg and calf. A very low period in my life, not being at optimal health and with hear that both the pain and misalignment of my back would be long term to permanent! Fortunately I consulted with Lisa @osteopathwest, who through manipulation massage and acupuncture not only got me back into alignment but also helped me work on a rehab, and since prehab, routine that ensures that I remain fighting fit and not only can train again confidently but also continue to push myself to achieve my goals and targets! Seeing Lisa on a regular basis has ensured the necessary maintenance to keep me healthy and I highly recommend her expertise and wealth of experience for chronic and acute injuries or maintaining a health body. Richard Marques, Personal Trainer
Over the last few years Lisa at Osteopath West has been the ‘go to’ therapist for many of our regular runners at Eden Running. We feel that her sporting background gives her a better understanding & experience in assessing & treating sporting injuries. Roz Gerber, Eden Running, Ealing
Just want to say a big thank you to Jeremy & Lisa for their fantastic professional service & knowledge. I have had both injury treatments & sport massages with Osteopath West and I can’t recommend them enough. Danijela Ivanovic, Senior Associate, MUFG Banking Group
I have seen Lisa for a long term chronic foot problem and she has been excellent and very thorough at ensuring that I can still train weekly and partake in events such as Love Mud Challenge & London to Paris cycle ride. I would recommend Lisa highly for anyone who wants to continue doing sport even in their 50s. Richard Palfreeman, Chief Executive Northfields Estate Agents
A busy and active lifestyle had taken its toll on my back suffering discomfort for quite a few weeks. After a consultation with Jeremy, I knew I was in safe hands. After the initial consultation, I only needed a few appointments and Jeremy was very thorough in explaining the issues I was having. His level of professionalism, knowledge and care was excellent and I would highly recommend his service to anyone in need of an expert to get them up and running again! As a 52 year old, "reasonably fit" but inching above "the preferred scale boundaries" mum - and after a particularly dramatic head long fall into the helm of a ridiculous speedboat - resulting in a broken shoulder, a damaged ankle and severe head and neck ache; Lisa bent, stretched, massaged and needled me back together again. Her diagnosis was accurate and her referral swift. The initial colourful taping was particularly helpful and my surgeon was amazed at my unusually swift recovery. Lisa was also quick to diagnosed and treat an ongoing nerve injury in my thigh which had been niggling for a number of months and which I had tried to ignore. Her advice was straightforward and treatment effective. Lisa is highly competent and easy to talk to. She is understanding of the idiosyncrasies of us less agile folk along with the ridiculous but very real reluctances of undressing and revealing all. She has the professionalism and credentials of a first class athlete however she also demonstrates a sympathetic understanding in her approach to deliver and mend, getting swiftly to the point and all done with good humour and genuine care. Edwina AJ, Company Director & Overworked mum.
Endurance cycling can have a real toll on the body and regular sessions with Lisa have allowed me to maintain my training load and avoid any lengthy layoffs. Lisa’s experience and attention to detail is first class and as a result my pedal technique and power output have improved since doing these sessions. We are currently working on the challenge of all challenges, in trying to see if I can run injury free again after several old rugby injuries. I would not hesitate to recommend her and can’t wait to be able to run injury free again. Togo Keynes, Co-Founder & CEO - Njinga Cycling
Since stepping up my cycling a few years ago, in training for Ride 100 & more recently a 100k Sportive in Wiltshire, I have been treated by Lisa at Osteopath West. I was recommended to see her for Osteopathic treatment because of her sporting background and knowledge. Lisa easily identified the cause of my niggles & I found that the combination of deep tissue massage, manipulation, needling, sport taping with good advice, resolved my issues each time. I recommend anyone who is looking for someone who understands the demands of training for a sport at any level to see Lisa for treatment. Karman Gordon, Lawyer & Cyclist
Lisa's interest in women's health makes her the perfect addition to our antenatal team at The Blooming Bunch. We only work with tried and trusted health professionals with the experience to match their people skills. We often refer to labour as a marathon, not a sprint and Lisa's background means that she understand and communicates the sporting analogy brilliantly. Lisa seems always keen to listen and to learn more. Refreshingly, she doesn't have the arrogance of some medics who feel they know it all! Beverley Turner, Founder of The Blooming Bunch antenatal classes in Chiswick.
I am 83 years old and am still able to live an active life which includes playing golf twice a week. I am sure this is largely due to Lisa Opie, my osteopath, who I visit regularly. She works on my body, deep massaging my legs, feet and back for 45 minutes of friendly chatter Mrs Pauline Lamb
As an ageing and damaged estate agent and footballer, I am now in need of more maintenance that ever before. Lisa has helped hugely in keeping me in full working order and I can’t recommend her highly enough – as I have and will continue to do so. Gary Sinton, Sinton Andrews Estate Agents
As a coach and athlete it is important that I am always in top physical condition. Lisa at Osteopath West has helped me stay at the top of my game for the past 3 seasons with her osteopathy, acupuncture and kinesiology taping skills. Lisa will continue to be an integral part of my team for 2013 Marsha El Hage, RGActive triathlon coach & GB triathlete
I have invested in the services of chiropractors and physios on occasions in the past when I have had issues with my back, but Lisa Opie was recommended to me by a friend who felt that an Osteopath might serve my needs better. Lisa quickly diagnosed the problem, treated it and gave me advice and exercises to aid recovery. I was back running in no time and have had no further problems. Jon Secrett, Associated News & Media
Having been pretty much injury free for three years of ironman triathlon training, a change of running shoe design led to me developing plantar fasciitis. This very painful foot problem meant I had to reduce my volume of running training. Not prepared to let it get any worse, I went to Lisa who not only treated the foot with some massage and manipulation but also taped it up with what I now describe as magic tape – Kinesio tape. My foot showed almost immediate improvement and I was able to run in the tape as usual but without it feeling restricted. Instead my foot felt almost ‘cradled’ and supported and after a few taping sessions is 99% better. I am a Kinesio tape convert – it works brilliantly. Gail Edmans, Business Development Manager
I have found that having fairly regular sessions with either Lisa or Jeremy make a huge difference to my physical comfort. I have an underlying life-long condition which now in late age (80) makes my muscles and joints stiffen and seize up painfully but the hands-on treatment eases and relaxes my legs, hips and neck amazingly so that I can continue riding our Pino tandem with my husband.
